LAVERNE GUSTAV RACH October 1, 1922 - October 27, 2004 Peacefully, after a long, courageous struggle, passed away on October 27, 2004 at Boundary Trails Health Centre, Morden with family at his side. He resided most of his life on the family farm in the 1-6 District South of Morden. He married the love of his life, Grace Klatt in 1948 and spent the best years of his life loving and caring for her. They moved to town in 1990. Laverne was predeceased by his loving wife Grace in 1991, his parents, brother Bernhard Rach and sister Hazel Bendinger. He is survived by his eight children and their families; Bernice and Doug Rinn of Rock Lake; Doug and Val Rach of Thompson; Marie and Ron Foidart of Winnipeg; Joyce and Ray Schaak of Winnipeg; Dennis and Cathy Rach of the 1-6 District; Cheryl and Gerald Nickel of Morden; Greg and Bev Rach of the 1-6 District; Brenda and Howard Pauls of Morden; 18 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He will also be remembered by his brother Glen Bendinger of Carman and sister Lynn and Wolfgang Hackenbroch of Winnipeg and family. By Lavernes wishes, a private family memorial will be held. There will be a celebration of life at Wiebe Funeral Chapel, 1050 Thornhill Street, Morden on Monday, November 1, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a Charity of Ones Choice.
