DOROTHY MAY BROWN (nee EVANS) On November 6, 2004 at St. Norbert P.C.H. surrounded by family, peacefully slipped away to join Jesus and loved ones whod passed on before. Left to cherish her memory is devoted husband Gary; son Derek (Lynne) daughter Roberta (Jayson) grandchildren, Justin, Chelsea, Jaycee, Kassi and Kaelyn; brother Bill Evans (Marian) sister Gwen Petsnick; and extended family members. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, Oliver and Peggy Evans; and brother-in-law Wally Petsnick. Dorothy was a committed christian whos first love was Jesus Christ and this love over-flowed onto her family and friends. A long time member of Calvary Temple, Winnipeg she was active over the years as a crusade worker, alter worker, phone prayer counsellor, and Sunday school teacher. In addition she for many years held a weekly prayer and bible study group in her home becoming a mentor and spiritual mom to a number of women living in the community! She was a beloved wife and mother who doted on her family. Her many interests included indepth bible study, music, home-making, cooking, travelling, flower arranging, ceramics, the cottage at the lake, and was an avid reader. Further, she was a pianist, able to express her feelings and mood through her playing. She will be greatly missed by many. Heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff of St. Norbert P.C.H. for their tender and excellent care of Dorothy. In lieu of flowers should friends so desire, donations may be made to Calvary Temple, Winnipeg. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Temple (Buntain Chapel) 400 Hargrave St. Winnipeg. Interment to follow at Green Acres Memorial Gardens.
