JOYCE ELEANOR PYDEE (nee DAKIN) It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Joyce Pydee on Saturday, November 27, 2004, at the Concordia Hospital. Mum was born in Manchester, England, on December 27, 1917, and immigrated with her family to Canada at the age of three where they settled in Weyburn, SK. The family eventually moved to Winnipeg where they settled in Elmwood. Mum attended school in Elmwood and later worked for Bullman Bros. alongside her father, a job in which she took great pride. She worked there for 15 years and retired when she married Clarence Oliver in 1952. Unfortunately Mum was widowed in 1955. She married William (Bill) Pydee in 1957. They family lived in Transcona for the rest of their time together. Mum especially enjoyed her meetings with the "Elmwood Lunch Bunch" and her trips to the mall. Mum was an avid knitter, enjoyed latch-hooking and was quiet a seamstress in her younger years. In her younger years she enjoyed trips to Minneapolis with her best friend Peggy. Joyce was predeceased by her first husband Clarence in 1955 and her second husband Bill in 1982, as well as her two brothers, Clifford and Ray Dakin. Left to cherish Mums memory are her children, Susan (Ted) Williams of Mission, BC, Ken (Raz) Pydee of Winnipeg, Joan (Joe) Prokopow of The Pas; grandchildren, Calvin Miranda, Ariana and Caitlin Williams and Roger (Kari), Allan (Trina) Prokopow; great-grandchildren, Kamryn and Ainsley Prokopow. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 1 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Edward J. Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald St. A celebration of Joyces life will be held on Thursday, December 2 at 10:30 a.m., also in the chapel. Flowers are gratefully declined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joyces memory to the CancerCare Manitoba, Canadian Diabetes Association or the Winnipeg Humane Society.
