EDITH PYEFINCH (nee CLEAR) November 28, 1913 - November 3, 2004 Peacefully on Wednesday, November 3, 2004, Edie passed away at the Bren-Del-Win Lodge in Deloraine, MB, at the age of 90. Edie was born and raised in Souris and was one of five children. She worked in Brandon for a time then moved to Winnipeg where she was a stay at home mom to her daughter for many years. When she resumed working out of home, she was a sales employee of the Metropolitan Store for many happy years. Edie enjoyed her contact with the public and the many good friends she made with her fellow workers. It was with great sadness that she had to retire due to an unfortunate accident which left her unable to return to work. Edie and her longtime companion Dodie Therien moved to Deloraine after they both had retired and enjoyed their retirement years in this great community. Her companion Dodie predeceased her on January 29, 1992. She leaves to mourn her passing her daughter Leona (husband Vern); grandson Scott (wife Leslie); great-granddaughter Emma Grace; and one brother Len (wife Shirley); also many nieces and nephews. Mom enjoyed life, and her quick wit stayed with her until the end. She loved children and some of my fondest memories are of Mom playing hide and seek, baseball, or any other game that we needed extra participants. We wish to thank the staff at Bren-Del-Win Lodge for their loving care of Mom, especially during the last year, as she struggled with severe arthritis, osteoporosis and memory loss which she bravely battled. It is now time for you to rest as you join our Lord, and enjoy the happiness of once again being joined with those who went before you. A celebration of Edie's life was held on November 6 at Deloraine-Medora United Church with Pastor Susan Everton officiating. SAFE IN THE ARMS OF JESUS
