DAVID G. SAWCHUK With sadness, we announce the passing of David on January 2, 2005 at the age of 68 years. Dave is survived by his wife of 42 years, Janet; son Jody (Sharon); daughter Sheri Doyle (Patrick); and son Kyle. Dave was predeceased by his parents, Violet and Max Sawchuk. Dave joined Great-West Life in 1964 as a disability underwriter. In 1970, he became a Great-West Life sales rep, retiring in 1998. Dave very much enjoyed his recent employment as a Marshall at the Tahquitz Creek Golf Resort in Palm Springs, California, and also at Larters Golf Course in St. Andrews, MB. Dave was an avid golfer who participated in many charity tournaments. He was a passionate golfer and long time member of Rossmere Golf and Country Club. Recently, he was also fortunate enough to achieve a hole-in-one on two separate occasions. Dave was past president of the Transcona Jaycees, past president of the Manitoba Jaycees and past vice-president of the Canada Jaycees. In 1969, he was the proud recipient of J.C.L. Senatorship #9900. Dave was also past president of the Winnipeg Business Club and current member and past president of the Winnipeg Cosmopolitan Club. The family would like to thank his many friends for their kind words, lunches and visitations over the last few months. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at Green Acres Funeral Home, at 10:00 a.m., with viewing one-half hour prior to service time. Interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery.
