PETER CRIVICI May 24, 1914 - January 6, 2005 With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Peter Crivici on January 6, 2005 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 90 years. Peter's memory will be cherished by his wife of 60 years Filomena; children, Frank (Sylvia) and Rita (David Bowness); grandchildren, Michael (Catherine), Angela (Alan Clayton), Damian and Camille; and great-grandsons, Benjamin and Matteo. Born May 24, 1914, in Lubenice, on the island of Cres, Croatia, Peter immigrated to Winnipeg in May 1950 with his wife and son. The family owned and operated Riverside Grocery on Assiniboine Avenue and later Fort Whyte Food Mart and Post Office on McGillivray Boulevard where Peter was Post Master until his retirement. He had a long, healthy and active retirement until his recent illness. In addition to following his children's and grandchildren's milestones and achievements, he enjoyed discussing current events, reading international newspapers online, following the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, making wine, gardening and bee-keeping. The highlight of his last year was the arrival of his great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Dr. Balko and all staff of the St. Boniface Hospital 6th floor Family Medicine for all their hard work and compassion. Your efforts will not be forgotten. In accordance with Peter's wishes, there will be a private family service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Boniface Hospital Research Foundation would be appreciated.
