Jessie will be remembered by her nieces, Luba Finney, Nancy Drewniak (Paul) and nephew Frank Shalapata and many great-nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband William (Bill) Purser in 1964, her father Thomas in 1960, her mother Annie in 1988 (both coming to Canada from Poland) and her brother Frank in 2002. Jessie was born on October 15, 1917 in Winnipeg and at a young age moved to South Transcona where her family farmed. She moved to Park Manor in 1999. Everyone called her Aunt Jessie and she loved to be around people. Jessie was famous for her cream puffs at social events. She enjoyed her card games, bowling and crocheted many afghans. She enjoyed cooking and inviting people over for dinner. She spent many winters in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and enjoyed the summers at her cottage at Lester Beach. She travelled to Hawaii and Poland with her mother. Jessie was a member of Jubilee Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. Our family would like to thank the staff at Park Manor Nursing Home for the wonderful care they gave looking after our Aunt Jessie during her last years. Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 21 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., with interment to follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jessie's memory to Park Manor Nursing Home, 301 Redonda St., Winnipeg MB R2C 1L7, or to a charity of your choice. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
