ESTHER POLLACK (nee RIVKIN) Died November 26, 2004 at the age of 80. Born in Winnipeg on August 23, 1924, Esther was the daughter of the late Lena and Samuel Rivkin. Survivors include her beloved husband of 59 years, Joseph Pollack of San Diego, California, her daughter Reesa Gottschalk (Irving) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, granddaughter Lauren Stefano (Andrew) of Watertown, MA, her brother Irvin Rivkin of Vancouver, B.C., her sister-in-law Ann Rivkin of Winnipeg, as well as nieces and nephews. A brother, Hy Rivkin, preceded her in death in 1945 while serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force. Along with her brother Hy and sister-in-law Ann, Esther was active in the campaigns of the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation [CCF], now the NDP. She moved to the States with her husband, Joseph Pollack, in 1955. Esther will be remembered for her intelligence, insightful wit, and many kindnesses.
