ADOLPH POLANSKI 1921 - 2005 On Wednesday, March 2 at the St. Boniface General Hospital, Adolph Polanski passed away from this life and into the hands of our Lord. Adolph had been a dedicated hard worker throughout his life, from the time he and his family departed Poland and set sail for Halifax in December 1941. The family first resided in Saskatchewan, later moved to St. Vital where Adolph would later meet and marry his wife of 54 years Elsia (Elsie) Van De Keere whom had earlier immigrated from Belgium. Together they raised four loving daughters and ran the Seine River Fur Farm . Many loving and cherished memories are attributed to Dad and Mom's farming by raising mink as his primary business, sheep, ducks and chickens along with a bountiful vegetable and flower garden. Dad's loves which first included his family and nature, were gardening, history, baseball, in particular the Toronto Blue Jays, hockey and curling. He never missed a World Series or Stanley Cup and as a young man loved his Brooklyn Dodgers and Detroit Red Wings. As young girls, we all very soon learned the significance of the Howe, Delvecchio, Ullman line. Dad was also a past member of the Manitoba Fur Breeders Association and served as a School Trustee on the Seine River school board in the early 1960's. Adolph is survived by his loving wife Elsia (Elsie), daughters, Darlene Hoffman, Linda and Michael Ramsay (and) grandson Michael Jr. of Barrie, ON and Sharon and Tom Rossi. Sisters, Tillie of Delhi, ON, Veronica of Vancouver, Victoria of Princeton, ON, and Wanda of Minneapolis. Brothers, Theodore and Bernard of Winnipeg and Joseph and Edward of Minneapolis. Erma Loepky, Yvonne Van De Keere and Charlie and Liz Van De Keere along with their respective spouses and families. Adolph was predeceased by his daughter Diane in February 1975 and brother Frederick and sister Anne both in February of 1995. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Monday, March 7, at 10:00 a.m. St. Emile's Roman Catholic Church, 556 St. Anne's Rd. at Bishop Grandin with Fr. Renee Peeters presiding. Interment will take place at Green Acres Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank Dr. Paul Doucet and the Emergency Team at St. Boniface Hospital who truly acted as our guardian angels at this difficult time. We would also like to thank all of the wonderful home care workers who have always provided our parents with warmth, humour and dignity. In lieu of flowers because of the Lenten season, should family or friends desire, donations in Adolph's memory may be made to the St. Boniface Hospital Research Foundation or World Vision Canada, in aid of the poor in Africa. Dad, may you and Diane watch over us until we as well join with you in your glory.
