BERNICE JUSTINE PYLYPCHUK (nee LAZARUK) Peacefully in her sleep, on Monday, March 7, 2005, Bernice Pylypchuk passed away in her home in Winnipeg. Born in Caliento, MB, on February 13, 1929, Bernice was the second youngest child of Anton and Mary Lazaruk. She married Sam Pylypchuk in 1971 and she settled down with him in Winnipeg to raise their only son, her pride and joy, Jonathan. Over the years she welcomed many into her home and was known for her warmth and delicious perogies. She had a young spirit, loved a good joke, and could wiggle and jig with the best of them. She spent hours upon hours in the summertime pulling weeds and planting flowers. She was a talented at cross-stitching, creating many beautiful pictures. This loving wife and mother will be missed by husband Sam, and son Jonathan and his wife Lynette. Aunty Bernice will also be missed by all her extended family, especially nephew Sidney Koshelanyk, his wife Connie and their children and grandchildren; by niece Janice McDermid, her husband Dale and their children and grandchildren; nephew Vincent Salamandyk and his wife Judy; as well as the families of her brothers, John and Bill. Bernice will also be missed by her close friends, who meant the world to her. Bernice was the last of the Lazaruk children, predeceased by siblings, Isabel, Nettie, John, Bill, Anne and Michael. Pallbearers will be nephews, Billy, Tom and Gord Koshelanyk, Benny and Anton Lazaruk; and family friend Daniel Wiebe. Prayers will be held on Friday, March 11 at 7:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. No. 1 E. at Navin.
