DAVID HILDERMAN Peacefully, after many close days with his family at his side, David Hilderman passed away on the night of Saturday, March 26, 2005. David's wife of 60 years Teresa; son Richard; daughter Gertrude; his parents and his two brothers, Fred and Jack all predeceased him. He is survived by his son Arthur (Audrey) Hilderman; daughter Janet (Moe) Claude; and grandchildren, James (Bria), Garrett, Courtney and Chelsea; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Dad was born on November 16, 1912 in Winnipeg. His early years were spent in Rhein, SK. The family moved back to Winnipeg in the 1920s where he resided ever since. Dad was an accomplished carpenter and draftsman, making his living with the skills he had in those areas. Mom and Dad spent many happy years at their cottage at Sandy Hook which Dad built. His interests included sports and photography and he has left us many fine examples both in our hearts and minds and in our homes, attesting to the thoroughness that he exemplified in each of those interests. Each member of our family has fond memories of dad's kindness in the many practical and generous things that he did for us. His wisdom, strength and knowledge will be sorely missed. A special thanks to the nurses, staff and volunteers at Vista Park Lodge and Lions Place. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 30 at Grace Lutheran Church, 211 Kimberley Ave., with viewing one hour prior to the service. Flowers gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund of Grace Lutheran Church, Winnipeg, R2K 0X3; where Dad was a Charter Member. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I'm so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. He was one of my Dad's best friends when growing up in the North End. I remember him as a man of great integrity and also with a twinkle in his eye. Later, I was Janet's Sunday School Teacher when she was six years old. Our condolences to Arthur, Janet and the family. - Posted by: Donna Einarsson (nee Riffell) (Friend) on: Mar 30, 2005
