Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJESSIE ELSIE POWOROZNYK December 18, 1925 - March 30, 2005 Peacefully, Mom has left us to be with the Lord. Jessie was predeceased by her husband Dmytro in 1981; her parents Jacob and Anne; son-in-law Nick; numerous brothers and sisters. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Shirley (Russell) Boyechko and children, Jason and Scott; Melvin (Mary) and children, Cory and Krista; Linda (Jack) Feschuk and children, Dale and Darren and grandchildren, Haley and Katylin; Sylvia Maksymchuk and daughter Anita; Leonard (Maria) and children, Ryan, Alina and Robert; Clarence and children, Lee Jay and Chad; one sister Jean of Winnipeg; numerous nieces and nephews. Jessie was born in 1925 in Okno, MB. She married Dmytro in 1945 and resided on the farm in Fraserwood until 1982. While living on the farm, she also worked at the Gimli Hotel as a cook for a number of years. Later she moved to Husavick for six years, and then to Winnipeg in 1988 to be close to her children. Mom will be remembered for her perogy and cabbage roll making that she made for her family and friends in her block. She also enjoyed playing cards and doing her knitting. For the past few winters, she would spend a couple of months in Thompson, visiting her daughter Shirley. While there, at a young age of 75, she took up fishing with her son-in-law Russ. Prayers will be sung 7:00 p.m. Sunday, April 3 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 4 at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Fraserwood, MB, with Fr. P. Chorney officiating. Interment will follow in Fraserwood Cemetery.
