EMMA EMILIA SCHAAF Peacefully, after a brief illness on Wednesday, April 27, 2005, Emma Schaaf passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital with family at her side. Emma is survived by her son Ervin; sisters, Maria Gebhardt and Resi Matthenni; niece Gabriele Champaco in Virginia, USA; and numerous cousins and relatives in Germany and Hungary. Emma was born on September 17, 1928 to Janos and Maria Baron in Solymar, Budapest, Hungary. She came here in 1957, a year later, following her husband's arrival in 1956. Working at various jobs until finally settling in at Murray Tent and Awning, where she worked for many years until her retirement. Upon her retirement some of her greatest joys came from her friends, beloved dogs, shopping, and gardening. She would often call home (Germany) and talk to her sisters for hours. A special thank you to all the staff of Seven Oaks Hospital and Holy Family Nursing Home for the care and comfort they provided during her illness and final days. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Emma will be sincerely missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched and graced.
