RUTH VELIA RAWDON Ruth Velia Rawdon, widow of William Rawdon passed away March 2, 2005 at Bethania Nursing Home of natural causes. She was born April 16, 1921 in Winnipeg and resided her life here. Ruth was a member of Eaton's Quarter Century Club and also a proud lifetime member of Royal Canadian Legion Elmwood Branch No. 9. Survivors are three sisters, Daneta Downie (widow Bob) of Williamsville, NY, Alma Bevan (Joe) of Green Bay, WI and Norma Coward (Ron) of Winnipeg; niece and goddaughter Laura Coward of Winnipeg and nieces, Gigi, Norma, Glynis and nephews, Gordon and Murray. Memorial will be held at 1:30 p.m., May 14 at Royal Canadian Legion Elmwood Branch No. 9, 920 Nairn Ave. with lunch to follow. Donations may be made to Memorial Fund of Royal Canadian Legion Elmwood Branch No. 9 in memory of Ruth Rawdon. Ruth was cremated and a family burial will be held later at Waverley Memorial Gardens.
