WILLIAM (BILL) GARRY BEATON Sadly on May 9, 2005, Bill passed away suddenly at his home from an aneurysm. Born on February 27, 1955, he lived in Selkirk his entire life. He treasured his family and friends and was a very loving son, husband, father, brother and friend. We will all cherish his memory. Bill leaves behind his beloved wife Joan and his legacy will live on in his precious daughter Karrie. His brothers, Wilfred, Larry (Penny) and Brian; sisters, Bonnie (Bob) Flett, Kathy (Jim) Begg, Betty-Ann Schoeneman; and special cousin Darrel will always cherish the time that they spent with him. Joan's family, the Burzuik's: Betty (Walter Lee), Douglas (Judy), Garry (Lori), Mike (Miriam), Sandra and Laurie will never forget the joy and laughter that he brought into the family. His best friends, Terry Palmer, Paul Willetts and Dale Ferguson will never forget the good times that they shared. Bill cherished the many happy times that he spent with his goddaughter Pauline Palmer, many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Wilfred and Muriel. Bill spent 21 wonderful years on Lake Winnipeg working on the Poplar River Barge. Many of those years were spent with his good friend Darrell Settee. Bill enjoyed socializing with his friends. He never missed a show of Coronation Street. He was also fond of music and antiques. If he could, he would have went to the Riverboat every morning for a cup of coffee and tease the girls asking for diet gravy and a rhubarb sandwich. Recently, Bill and Joan completed renovations on their new home, which was to be the start of their new lives together. He was so proud of his new home as it was a place where everyone was welcome. His home was a place where his legacy would be remembered by everyone that knew him. We are going to miss you but we are so thankful for the time that we had together and the love and the laughter that we shared. A service of remembrance is to be held on Friday, May 13 at 3:00 p.m. at the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Selkirk with Archdeacon Godfrey Mawejje officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Terry Palmer and Donna Fitkowski, Paul and Marlene Willetts, Rick Zarichney and Gail Billington. Special thanks to our special friends at the Selkirk District General Hospital for being there for us. To The Love Of My Life One smile for all, One heart of gold, One of the best this world can hold Never selfish, always kind What a beautiful memory you can leave behind Love always and forever, Joanie My Daddy My heart is always with you, As I know your heart is always with me, I'm so proud to be your daughter!
