KRISTA PROST Our hearts are heavy with sorrow in announcing the peaceful passing of Krista Prost, on Tuesday, May 10, 2005, at the St. Boniface General Hospital, at the age of 48 years. Krista faced her heart wrenching diagnosis of a brain tumour with true grit and unyielding determination during this most untimely journey. She is now reunited with loved ones who have gone before her and is eternally at peace. Remaining to forever cherish her memory are her partner, Bob Meisner; sister Ester Wilson (Dan); nephews, Clayton and Kyle Wilson; cousin Vicki Averett; former husband Larry Prost; as well as numerous relatives and friends whose love and companionship were greatly appreciated. Krista's gifts were her warm, kind, generous and loving ways. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and always had a hug for everyone. Animals, especially dogs, were Krista's passion and joy. Over the years Krista welcomed and loved many a stray as well as her own, and she loved to share her stories of animal antics. Krista worked for many years at Canada Wire (Superior Essex) and most recently with the Department of National Defence. She was dedicated, fun loving with a great sense of humour, and possessed a strong work ethic. Krista's laughter, loyalty, and unconditional love will be forever ingrained in our hearts. Her warm hugs, treasured pickles, and the way in which she thoughtfully wrapped gifts with pizzazz and creativity to add gaiety to our special family moments are now but some of our precious memories. In compliance with Krista's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. A private family interment will be held at Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Ave. Our family wishes to acknowledge the support and kindness of friends during Krista's illness. A heartfelt thanks to Lori Szot for your steadfast devotion to Krista in her time of need. Thank you for the care, kindness and compassion shown by the St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care staff. If friends so desire, donations in Krista's memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St. Winnipeg, MB, R2L 1X3 or to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB, R3E OV9.
