BARBARA M. NICOL (nee NELSON) Peacefully, on Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at the Betel Home in Selkirk, Barbara Nicol, aged 84 years, of Selkirk. Barbara was predeceased by her husband Alex; both parents; brother Manford and sister Isabelle. She will be greatly missed by her son Jim (Deborah); daughter Elizabeth (Wade); grandchildren, Jimmy, Penni (Dean), Peter (Cara), and Paul (Debbie); great-grandchildren, Kamryn, Grace, Dylon, Jordan, Tyson, Sydney, Matthew, and Joshua. She will also be missed by her extended family Kim and Larry Skidmore and children, as well as Bish and Anne Growbowski. Barbara was born and raised in Selkirk and will be remembered for her zest for life, her love of travel, and her passion for curling. She was known for her beautifully crafted eggs and her Christmas venattarta. Barb made many lifelong friends while working at MTS, her membership with the Royal Canadian Legion and with her involvement at Knox Presbyterian Church. A celebration of her life was held Friday, May 27 at 1:00 p.m. in the Knox Presbyterian Church with Rev. Matthew Brough officiating.
