GOLDIE MARGARET BEAUDRY (CSUZDI)
Date of Passing: May 17, 2005
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGOLDIE MARGARET BEAUDRY (CSUZDI) Goldie, gently passed away, May 17, 2005, surrounded by her loving family. Born Aranyka (pronounced Aranka) Csuzdi, in Woodridge, MB to David Csuzdi and Juliana Szantos, immigrants from Hungary, she was named Goldie by her godparents. Aranka was always proud of her Hungarian descent. Goldie loved the outdoors and spent most of her life amidst the jack pines in Woodridge and in Vassar where she married Justin Beaudry and spent many happy years working in the general store and as postmaster in the Vassar Post Office. After her elementary schooling in Woodridge, Goldie went to the Grey Nun's Convent in Ste. Anne to complete her high school. During this time she contracted polio leaving her gently fragile. She then went on to Saint-Joseph's Academy in Saint-Boniface as she attended Normal School. Teaching, piano playing, picking blueberries and caring for her three boys were certainly the highlights of her life. She was known for her cooking, especially her tourtiere and fudge and, her homemade cards for every occasion, hand-drawn with personal commentary to the recipient reminding all that people were important to her. Goldie was predeceased by her daughter Claire and husband Justin, her siblings, Steve and wife Rita, Mary and husband Conrad, Paul, Julia and husband Ed as well as her two older brothers who remained in Hungary. She was loved by her sons, Bernard (Shari), Marc (Gisele) and Bertrand (Lisa), her grandchildren, Joshua, Justin-Ross, Jacob (Bernard); Christian, Sylvie, Nicole, Monique, Jean-Michel (Marc); Michelle, Daniel and Renee (Bertrand) as well as her great-grandchildren, Emilie, Veronic, Manu and Felix. A service celebrating Goldie's life was held at Desjardins Funeral Home on May 20. Her remains were cremated and will be placed in the Vassar Catholic Cemetery at a future date. We will miss you... The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Foyer Valade for the care offered to Goldie during her stay at the residence. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to one of her two favourite charities, Foster Parents Plan, 1001-95 St. Clair Ave. W, Toronto, ON M4V 3B5 or the Salvation Army.
