Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNA NADINA GINA DI CURZIO (nee D'IGNAZIO) July 15, 1941 - May 27, 2005 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and sister Anna, on May 27, 2005. She is predeceased by her parents Domenico and Domenica, and her brothers Gabriele and Mario. Anna was born on July 15, 1941, in San Giorgio di Crognaleto and grew up on a farm, the youngest of three children. While her brother Gabriele was working in Switzerland, he met a young man named Tommaso Di Curzio. Gabriele showed him a picture of Anna, and it was the birth of a 41-year relationship. Anna and Tommaso were pen-pals for eight months, until they finally met on December 21, 1964, Tommaso's 29th birthday. After meeting the best birthday present he ever received, Anna, they married on February 6, 1965. Knowing that they wanted to start a family, and wanting to give their children optimal opportunities, they ventured to Canada by boat, arriving on September 9, 1965. Tommaso and Anna had five children, who brought them much pride and joy, Rosanna, Loreta, Sandra, Maurizio and Domenico. Anna loved nothing more than to care for and be with her family. Her legacy is her warmth, kindness and generosity. Sweet, caring and soft-spoken, she was never too busy, selflessly giving to her husband and children. She was a true Italian mamma, cooking up a storm and feeding her family until their bellies were full! Anna empathized with everyone, from strangers to friends to her family, her beautiful blue eyes welling up with tears at anyone's pain. She epitomized love and sincerity and even with the little money she had, she found a way to give to various charities. Her angelic qualities indeed made the world a better place. Prayers will be said on Wednesday June 1st, 2005 at 8:00 p.m. in Holy Rosary Church 510 River Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday June 2nd, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. also at Holy Rosary Church with Reverend Father Sam Argenziano presiding. Anna will be sorely missed by her loving husband of 40 years and her five children. The Di Curzio family would like to extend a special thank you to the friends and family who gave their unconditional love and support in our time of need, especially her best friend and sister-in-law Zia Maria D'Ignazio, nephew John, Zio Sebastiano, Zia Maria and nephews Paolo and Joe, and Dan Tretiak. She will also be missed by Nella D'Ignazio and family and all of her friends at Sacre Coeur and Our Lady of Victory parishes. Heartfelt thanks to the staff at both Victoria General Hospital and the Health Sciences Centre for the care provided to Anna, especially Dr. Ronald and ICU nurse Jenn. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Canadian Liver Foundation. Ciao cara Annina, we miss you Ma.
