IRMA THUMBLER It is with profound sorrow that we the family of Irma Thumbler announce her passing on Friday, August 26, 2005. Born on March 10, 1959 in Winnipeg, Irma is survived by husband Carlos; daughter Courtney; parents, John and Anna Friesen; sisters, Hedy (Vern), Hilda; brother Werner (Doris); three nieces and two nephews. Irma spent most of her life employed in the transportation business. She spent many years working for the Canadian Red Cross Blood Services and was a founding employee of Canadian Blood Services. It was during this time that she developed many friendships with coworkers. Recently, Irma and her husband owned and operated Crocus Transport. Irma was endeared to many due to her friendly, outgoing nature and sense of humour. It seemed her mission in life was to complete one or two practical jokes a day. Her profession complimented her personality and she was able to affect many lives. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 31 at the East Kildonan Baptist Church, 700 Watt St. Viewing will be prior to the service and on Tuesday, August 30, 7:00 p.m. at Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. Donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. Arrangements by Transcona Funeral Chapel.
