THERESA YVONNE RACE In her 92nd year, after a short illness, Theresa breathed her last. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 64 years, Dallas. Theresa leaves her sons, Dennis and Gene (Rita-Mae); her grandchildren, Judith-Anne (D'arcy), John (Jeanny), and Katherine; and her great-grandchildren, Bryan, Jessica, Michael, Kelly and Scott. Nana was a strong presence in all their lives and she will be missed. Theresa spent her early years in Rainy River where she met and married Dal. They moved to Winnipeg shortly after they wed and Theresa shone in the role of wife and homemaker. Whether in an apartment block in Transcona, a bungalow in Norwood, a duplex in St. Boniface, or a home by the lake in Minaki, Theresa imparted her unique blend of style and comfort. Gene and his family enjoyed many tasty meals, picked countless baskets of blueberries, cooled off in the refreshing waters of the lake with and generally enjoying the pleasure of Dal and Theresa's company. After Dal's retirement, Theresa was happy to have Dennis spend the summer months with them. Minaki and the Lake of the Woods area were some of her favourite spots, She did, however, value the many winters that she and Dal spent in Arizona and Florida. The last few years were made easier for Theresa by the care and concern for her welfare offered by the Staff on CD3 at the Riverview Centre. The family is grateful to all concerned. A funeral service celebrating her life will take place on Friday, September 2, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald St. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, a donation in Theresa's memory may be made to the Riverview Health Centre, #1 Morley Ave. Winnipeg, MB, R3L 9Z9.
