DORA GERTRUDE THOMAS (nee CLINE) On Wednesday, August 31, 2005, Dora Gertrude Thomas, widow of Albert Edward Thomas, passed away peacefully at the Maples Personal Care Home in Winnipeg. She is survived by son Kenneth; daughter Kathryn; grandchildren, Alison and Philip and great-grandchildren, Sean, Emily and Madison. She is also survived by sister Mae Fortier; brother Earl Cline; sister and brother-in-law, Anne and John Thomas; brother and sister-in-law, Neil and Joan Cline and numerous nieces and nephews. Dora was predeceased by her husband Albert in 1985. Dora was born at Belmont, MB on February 17, 1917, the third child of Lewis and Ada Cline. Dora grew up on the family farm in Belmont and later moved to Winnipeg. She met Albert Thomas of Winnipeg and they were married in 1944; a marriage that lasted over 40 years until Albert's death in 1985. Her favourite pastimes were reading a variety of books, playing many card games and following sports on radio and T.V., especially her Blue Bombers. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 6 at 10:30 a.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery. Dora recently came to reside at the Maples Personal Care Home, where she was very happy. A special thank you to all of the staff at the Maples for their care and kindness. A special thank you also to John and Anne Thomas and to Debbie Nicholas and to Barbara Regier for all their help and visits.
