LEO JOSEPH ROCAN SR. 1924 - 2005 Following a brief illness, Leo Joseph Rocan Sr., passed away with family by his side on September 8, 2005 at the St. Boniface Hospital. Leo was born January 11, 1924 in La Broquerie, MB to Emery and Ormeline (Fillion) Rocan. Lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years Ida (Pelletier); his children, Lise (Leonard) Pescitelli, Leo Jr., Gerry (Sue), Jocelyn (Greg) Predinchuk, John (Denise), Nicole (Kevin) Anderson and Carole (Darryl) Kehler. He leaves a legacy in his 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He leaves to mourn numerous family and friends. Leo was a member of the International Association of Bridge Structural and Ornamental Iron Workers local No. 728, as well as a member of the Canadian Native Sons. He also enjoyed bowling, card games, scratch tickets from the grandkids and hours of Yahtzee. The family would like to thank the staff of 6A South of the St. Boniface Hospital and Dr. J. Francois for the care he received. Prayer services will be held Tuesday, September 13, 7:00 p.m. at Green Acres on Hwy. No. 1 with funeral services to be held Wednesday, September 14, at the St. Boniface Cathedral Church, 190 de la Cathedrale Ave. Viewing at 10:00 a.m. with mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. Following the interment at Green Acres, a gathering of family and friends will be held in the St. Boniface church basement. Donations in Leo's memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or the Canadian Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
