BELKIZ ISIKLI March 1, 1969 - September 7, 2005 It is with great sorrow that we advise the unexpected death of our dear friend, Belkiz Isikli. Belkiz, an only child, was predeceased by her father Hueseyin Isikli, in 1987 and by her mother Behire Isikli, in 1990. Belkiz will be sadly missed by her adopted family of Richard Whidden, Holly Beard and their extended family. Belkiz's father moved from Turkey to Thompson, MB in the early 1960s to work at Inco. In 1965, he returned to Turkey to marry Belkiz's mother and bring her back to Thompson. Belkiz was born in Thompson in 1969, where she grew up and attended school. After she completed school, she worked at the Juniper Centre, where she learned many skills and participated in many activities. After her mother passed away, Belkiz moved into the Cambridge Residence. She made many good friends in Thompson whom she always remembered very fondly. Belkiz moved to Winnipeg in 1993 to live with her adopted family . Through Network South Enterprises Inc., she obtained employment with the YM - YWCA on Vaughn Street, where she took great pride in working as a change room attendant. We very much appreciate the kindness and respect with which the staff at the Y always treated Belkiz. She enjoyed every day that she spent there and always looked forward to going to work. Belkiz was a very sweet, compassionate and kind person, always eager to please and ready to help. She adored little babies and enjoyed swimming, bowling, camping and listening to music. Her family will miss her quiet presence, while she is now gone, she will not be forgotten. Our family would like to thank Dr. Dan Roberts and the medical and nursing staff in the medical intensive care unit at the Health Sciences Centre for their extraordinary efforts to help Belkiz, for the wonderful care they provided and for their understanding and support in helping us cope with her unexpected illness. There will be a memorial service at St. Luke's Anglican Church, 130 Nassau St. N., Winnipeg, MB on Thursday, September 15 at 12:30 p.m., with a lunch to follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either St. Luke's Anglican Church or to Network South Enterprises Inc., 130 Goulet St., Winnipeg, MB R2H 0R8. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
