LIONEL TOUGAS 1934 - 2005 Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, with his daughter Penny at his side, Lionel Tougas beloved husband of Carolyn Levesque-Tougas descended to everlasting life on September 21, 2005, at the age of 71 years. He will be remembered as a man of many talents, whether winning a crib tournament or building a coffee table. However, it will be his humble, kind and gentle nature that will be most fondly remembered. Left to cherish his memory are his wife and soul-mate Carolyn, his daughter Penny Piper and grandson Aaron; his sisters, Laurette Theberge (Lionel), Lucille St. Amant (Fernand), Raymonde De Pape (Fermin), Lucienne and Patricia Lanovaz; his brothers, Gerald (Louise-Marie) and Ulysse; along with numerous nephew and nieces; his mother-in-law Johanna Wilson; and his stepsons, Grant and Raymond Levesque; his extended family and his adopted family of 64 Nassau. He was predeceased by his parents, Omer in 1951 and Antoinette in 2001, and his young sister Cecile in 1941. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 24 at 10:30 a.m. at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St. with Fr. Leonce Aubin presiding. A private family interment of cremated remains will take place at a later date. For the residents of 64 Nassau, a celebration of Lionel's life will be held on Thursday, September 29 at 2:00 p.m. A special thank you to the Riverview palliative care staff.
