LOUIS-PHILIPPE SAINT-DENIS C.S.V. Le pere Louis-Philippe Saint-Denis, clerc de Saint-Viateur, est decede a Joliette, Quebec, le 6 octobre 2005, a l'age de 84 ans, dans sa 63e annee de profession religieuse et sa 58e annee de sacerdoce. Ne le 19 janvier 1921, ses etudes terminees, il entre chez les Clercs de Saint-Viateur ou il emet ses premiers voeux, le 6 janvier 1943, et est ordonne pretre le 22 mai 1948. Apres son ordination, il travaille plus de 15 ans dans deux colleges situes l'un a Outremont et l'autre a Rigaud. A partir de 1966, il exerce son ministere en milieu paroissial, d'abord a Rigaud comme cure, puis a Otterburne, Manitoba ou il sera cure de 1968 a 1977. En 1981, il commence une semi-retraite a Rigaud d'ou il assura une presence pastorale aupres des personnes agees (Foyer de Rigaud) et dans les paroisses environnantes. De 1991 a 2003, il sera cure a Pointe-Fortune. Recemment, comme sa sante se deteriorait, il a ete transfere a l'infirmerie communautaire de Joliette ou il est decede. Les funerailles seront celebrees en l'eglise paroissiale de Rigaud le samedi 8 octobre, suivies de l'inhumation au cimetiere de la Congregation a Rigaud. LOUIS-PHILIPPE SAINT-DENIS C.S.V. Father Louis-Philippe Saint-Denis, Cleric of Saint Viator, passed away at the Community infirmary in Joliette, QC, on October 6, 2005, at the age of 84, in his 63rd year of religious life and 58th year of priesthood. Born in Quebec on January 19, 1921, Father Saint-Denis, after completing his studies, joined the Viatorians and pronounced his first vows on January 6, 1943 and was ordained priest on May 22, 1948. Following his ordination, he spent some 15 years teaching in two Colleges located in Montreal and in Rigaud, QC. From 1966, he began ministering as pastor, first in Rigaud and from there in Otterburne, MB where he was the parish priest from 1968 to 1977. In 1981, he began partial retirement in Rigaud where he ministered part time in a residence for seniors and in surrounding parishes. From 1991 to 2003, he was pastor in a neighbouring parish. Hardly a month ago, as his health was deteriorating rapidly, he was transferred to the Community infirmary where he died. Funerals will be celebrated in the parish church in Rigaud on Saturday October 8, followed by burial in the Community Cemetery in Rigaud.
