Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM (BILL) BORKOWSKY It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bill on Saturday, October 29, 2005 at City Hospital in Saskatoon at the age of 86. Bill will be missed by his sisters, Frieda, Ida and his brother Lorenz, brother-in-law Art Schultz, nephews, Boyd, Barry, Raymond, Alvin and Ronald, as well as nieces Doreen, Angie, Mildred, Kimberley and all his dear friends and relatives from Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg, Steinbach and those from the Riverside Terrace Complex in Saskatoon. Bill was born October 8, 1919 near Steinbach, MB. As a young man he worked at home and other farms in the area, then ventured to a job in a logging camp in British Columbia only to return to Winnipeg where he started a career with Ogilvie Flour Mill. There he met Kay Zelinski and they were married in 1957. Bill and Kay lived on Cathedral Avenue in Winnipeg where they had the best yard and garden on the block. Bill loved his cars and was sure to get a new one before the old one needed repairs. After Kay passed in 1994, Bill continued to keep up the yard until he moved to Saskatoon from Steinbach in 2000 where he enjoyed many family gatherings, trips to California, Regina, Waskesiu, Winnipeg and Moose Jaw. One of his favourite times was Sunday brunches at the complex with family and friends. He enjoyed the movies, the weekly entertainment, the Lutheran Church Services and walks along the river. He also enjoyed his trips to the Berry Barn for his favourite waffle with family. Donations gratefully accepted by the Lung Association of Manitoba (204) 774-5501. Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday November 4 at the Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook St. in Winnipeg. Viewing will be at 9:30 a.m. A celebration of Bill's life will follow the service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Brookside Cemetery, 3000 Notre Dame Ave. in Winnipeg where he will be laid to rest beside his lovely wife Kay.
