MARGIE ANN GIESBRECHT 1948 - 2005 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful wife and mother, Margie Giesbrecht. After a short but courageous battle with cancer, Margie passed peacefully on November 2, 2005. Margie will be sadly missed by her husband Dennis; daughters, Mollie (Chad), Katie (Jared); Grandson Tyson; sisters, Pat (Len), Heather, Ange; brother Jamie (Brenda); mother Joan and numerous nieces and nephews. Margie was predeceased by her father James Stewart. Margie was born April 23, 1948 at St. Boniface Hospital. Margie graduated from Nelson Mac and went on to earn her degree in both Human Ecology and Education from the University of Manitoba. Margie's career was of the utmost importance to her. She was an intricate part of the River East Transcona School Division, where she spent 28 years challenging her to excel. She spent many years at Valley Gardens Junior High inspiring students to become as passionate about cooking and sewing as she was. Her true love was being an administrator; she honed her skills at John De Graff and Maple Leaf Elementary Schools but returned to junior high at Arthur Day, a level she loved. Margie's passion for her career left her committed to improving her skills as a leader and friend daily. All who worked with her will sadly miss Margie and remember always her little pick-me-up notes, which really made her the magical woman that she was. Our mother had a zest for life, a creativity that surpassed most and warmth that touched all who knew her. As the ultimate hostess, every detail of the meal was planned carefully, the table eloquently set and each guest made to feel like royalty. As the impeccable seamstress, she accepted nothing less than perfection. For years her handmade clothes passed for designer labels. Watching our house transform into a Christmas village, often before Halloween, became an anticipated event to all our friends and family. Even as a mother of adult children, she never let the magic of the season escape us. Our mother's first passion in life was our family. Our parents were married in 1969 and they devoted 37 years to providing their girls with a solid example of what family should be. Mom's enduring love was with us through everyday of our lives together. Becoming a grandma filled her heart completely. Tyson was truly her pride and joy, bringing her so much comfort during her illness. She will forever be remembered as our best friend. A funeral service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, November 7 at Eastview Community Church, 3500 DeVries Ave., East St. Paul. Viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 8 at Kildonan Presbyterian Cemetery, 2373 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Margie's name to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. • I wish to express my sincere condolences on your untimely, tremendous loss. I worked with Maggie at Maple Leaf. She was such a LADY and worked very hard to make the school a safe and respectful place to come too. I am very sorry for the pain you all had to endure these past months. It must have been very difficult to see such a strong, courageous woman become so ill. My thoughts and prayers will be with your family during this time. I know you will take care of one another. Maggie would not want it any other way! - Posted by: Ricki Daly (Co-Worker) on: Nov 04, 2005
