Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLGA THORNTON MCCALLUM (nee OLLERENSHAW) Peacefully, on November 2, 2005 Olga (Ollie) passed away. She was predeceased by her husband Alexander (Alex), sister Anne Dafoe (Ross), parents, Lily and James Ollerenshaw and survived by her sons, Campbell (Cam) and Edward (Ted). In addition to her sons she leaves behind daughters-in-law, Patricia Sullivan and Deloree, granddaughter Elizabeth, sister-in-law Edith McCallum, nephew Gordon McCallum (Linda) and nieces, Marion McCallum and Zane Murphy (Ross). Born on a farm near Fleming, SK on March 25, 1915, Ollie was and remained a prairie girl at heart, developing a deep and everlasting appreciation of her beloved Pipestone and Qu'Appelle valleys. While a teenager, she and her family relocated to Winnipeg settling in St. James near the St. James Station where she spent many hours watching, riding in and developing a lifelong passion for steam locomotives. Before her marriage Ollie worked as a model, dental assistant and switchboard order clerk for the Hudson's Bay Company. In October 1941 she married her high school sweetheart Alex and following his return from service in the R.C.N.V.R. they eventually settled in Charleswood. There they raised their two sons and she became very active in the community particularly St. Mary's Anglican Church, its Women's Auxiliary and Ladies Friendship Group. In keeping with Olga's wishes a private service has already taken place. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Golden West Centennial Lodge (G.W.C.L.) 811 School Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2Y 0S8, Attention: Major Jennings. The family sincerely thanks the staff at G.W.C.L. for the care provided Olga while she was a resident. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
