STANLEY MARTIN PONDO Peacefully on Thursday, November, 17, 2005 with his family by his side, Stanley passed away at the Victoria General Hospital. Stan is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 49 years, Margaret; his two daughters, Sandra and her husband Dan Hilborn of Cambridge, ON and Susan and her husband Tony Warzel; his cherished grandchildren, Josh and Jenna Hilborn of Cambridge, ON and Monica and Andrea Warzel. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Adam Joe and Joan, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mildred and Marcus Stephens and Ilene and Ron Watt of Mississauga, ON as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Martin and Weronica; his sister Jean Roscoe; Margaret's parents, Joseph and Laura Malecki and his brother-in-law Gordon Kardashinski. Stan was born on March 14, 1933 and resided in Winnipeg all of his life. He married Margaret on November 3, 1956 and together they made a wonderful home on Cathedral Avenue. Stan worked for Canadian International Comstock as an electrician for 35 years. He enjoyed golfing, working on the daily crossword, Blue Bomber games, going to the Grey Cup and watching his grandchildren grow. Honorary pallbearers are Dan Hilborn, Tony Warzel, Josh Hilborn, Michael Stephens, Shannon Watt, Gary Michalick and Nick Roscoe. Thank you to the wonderful ICU staff at the Victoria General Hospital for their care of our dear Stan during his last days. Memorial service will be held on Monday, November 21, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home. Cremation has taken place according to Stan's wishes. Monsignor Louis McCloskey officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Stan's memory to the St. Amant Centre, 100 River Rd., Winnipeg, MB, R2M 3Z9. Good-bye, we will miss you!
