Born: Oct 19, 1933
Date of Passing: Nov 23, 2005
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY GRIFFITHS MOIR (MOLLY) October 19, 1933 - November 23, 2005 Peacefully on November 23, 2005, Molly gave up her determined hold on life after a long struggle with two primary cancers. She will be greatly missed by her sister Anne Boland (Bernard). She was a loving aunt to Robert, Andrew and Cathy Maxwell. She will also be missed by her extended family, Lisa and Francis Boland, Sandi Taylor and great-nephews Alexander and Jaiden Taylor, as well as the family dog, Slobhan, who spent hours every day lying on her bed in the palliative care ward. Molly lived in Glasgow, Scotland, where she worked as a Health Visitor for over 40 years, contributing to the welfare of children in her care. Throughout her life Molly was a devoted member of Giffnock South Parish Church, where she sang in the choir. She was a Brownie leader, and a member of the Women's Guild, serving as secretary and then as president. She also volunteered with the Torch Trust, driving blind people, and as a visitor to shut-in church members. For many years she sang with the local Choral Society. Alone after the death of her parents she immigrated to Canada in 2001 to live with Anne and Bernard. One of her great joys was becoming a Canadian citizen a few weeks before her death, while in Riverview. Molly's love of music continued in Winnipeg, with the church choir and handbell ringers, and she also sang with the University of Manitoba Joie de Vivre choir. She loved camping with the family, and was looking forward to more years of travelling in Canada. Cremation has already taken place. A celebration of her life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29 at St. Andrew's River Heights United Church, 255 Oak St. The family is grateful for the love and support of friends during the last few months, especially Lily Conway and Merrill Stange. Our thanks go to Drs. Latosinsky, Cooke and Nason of CancerCare for their kind and gentle care over the last four years, and also to the doctors, nurses and support staff of 3E, Riverview Health Centre for their wonderful support and compassionate care of all of us. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Andrew's River Heights United Church Foundation, 255 Oak St., Winnipeg, MB R3M 3P7. VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME CREMATORIUM 1531 Pembina Hwy. 284-7500

Molly was a true kindred spirit. She possessed a love for life that was contagious. I am truely blessed to have met her. I will forever remember her hugs!! Anne and Bernard, if you read this, I still think of you often and am regretful that I missed saying goodbye to Molly and to you both. I feel as equally blessed to have met you! I wish for you that God is present and comforts you in your grieving. Take care! My thoughts and prayers are with you both! Love, Kacee. - Posted by: Kacee Lillyman (Friend) on: Dec 02, 2005
