VICTOR JAMES BRUCE Suddenly on Wednesday, November 30, 2005, Victor James Bruce of Poplar River passed away in Winnipeg at the age of 73 years. Victor was born in Poplar River on October 23, 1932 and had resided there his entire life. Victor enjoyed the outdoors, as he loved to hunt and fish. He would take the younger generation to Weaver Lake and teach them outdoor survival skills. Victor was a respected elder in the community. He leaves to cherish his beautiful memory his daughters, Deborah Favell (Charlie) and Raven Thundersky (Alan Aitken); sons, Delbert Bruce (Doreen Fisher) and Dennis Bruce (Marilyn Franklin); stepdaughter Rita Swain numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Nora Bruce (May 13, 2005); daughters, Barbara Keam (June 7, 1980), Mardina Mitchell (February 13, 1995), Melvina Mitchell (April 9, 1999) and Rebecca Bruce (June 22, 2005). Prayers will be held on Thursday, December 1 at 7:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, 724 Selkirk Ave. at Parr. Wake services will take place on Friday, December 2, Saturday, December 3 and Sunday, December 4 at Poplar River, MB. Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 5 at 1:00 p.m. at Poplar River Pentecostal Church with Pastor Alex Hudson officiating. Interment to follow at the Poplar River Cemetery.
