Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBEATRICE HYKAWY It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and baba, Beatrice Hykawy, aged 89 years on Friday, December 2, 2005 at the Gimli Community Health Center. Beatrice leaves to mourn her passing her children, Lee of Winnipeg, Gordon of BC, Janet Stack (Jerry) of Winnipeg, Bill (Sharon) of Alberta and Jerry (Jeannette) of Winnipeg Beach; her precious grandchildren, Michelle Miller of Winnipeg, Brent Lindahl of Alberta, Shawn (Heather) and Ashley (Shannon) both of Alberta, Lisa (Kenny) of BC and Kiley of Alberta; great-grandchildren, Emma and Hunter Miller and Nicholas and Jasmine Hykawy. She was predeceased by her husband Nicholas and was the last surviving family member of her family. Beatrice was born on March 14, 1916. She married Nicholas on July 30, 1937 and were together for 61 years. She loved watching hockey and playing her music. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Zeth Wiesenthal, the nurses and staff at the Gimli Hospital for the care and compassion shown to Beatrice and her family. In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place and a family interment of ashes will take place in spring. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.

My heartfelt sympathy goes to Aunie Beatrice's family and friends. She was the last survivor of 13 children born to Michael and Barbara Boitson. I always enjoyed visiting the Hykawy farm as I was growing up. I'll love you forever, Auntie. - Posted by: Bill Korolyk (Family) on: Dec 05, 2005
