PAUL PETER ZBYR It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our son, brother, brother-in-law and uncle, Paul, after a brief struggle with cancer. Paul left us on December 11, 2005, at Seven Oaks General Hospital. He was predeceased by his father Peter (1994); infant brother Richard; and sister Maria (1952). He will be lovingly remembered by his mother Maria; sister Linda; brother-in-law and friend Ray Bretecher; and cherished nephews, Justin, Nathan and Jesse. Paul was born in Germany on July 30, 1946, and immigrated to Canada with his parents in 1949. He received his education at Sisler and Tech-Voc High Schools. He was employed for 30 years at Winnipeg Hydro, retiring in 1995. Paul had many interests, including crosswords and collecting sports cards, comics and books. He had an appreciation for anything old and enjoyed finding his treasures and sharing them with his family and friends. Paul was also a long-time and accomplished 10 pin bowler but his main passion was golf and he spent countless happy hours at Bel Acres. He was especially proud of his holes-in-one. Through his activities, Paul made numerous good friends. After the passing of his father, Paul was a great support to his mother. He was a loving and thoughtful brother and uncle, always cheering us on and finding that special item he thought we would enjoy. He will be sorely missed by all. Much appreciation is expressed to Jennifer and especially Rachel on 3 U7 for caring for Paul and for their support to the family. We would also like to sincerely thank Paul's many friends for their concern and visits. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 15 at 2:00 p.m. at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, 114 McGregor St., followed by interment in All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Paul's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 109-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. And finally, when we've putted out on the 18th green, we pray that we will have demonstrated the integrity of our character, so that You will judge us worthy to join Your threesome and play eternally on Your Heavenly course. Amen. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
