PETER BRAUN Peacefully, on Sunday, December 11, 2005, Peter Braun, passed away at the Riverview Health Centre. Peter will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 40 years, Eleanor; sister Mary Schultz and numerous nieces and nephews. Peter was born August 30, 1926 in Morse, Saskatchewan and grew up on the family farm in Glen Kerr, and then moved to Niverville, Manitoba. He worked construction in Northern Manitoba before joining Manitoba Hydro. Peter retired from Manitoba Hydro after 26 years of service. Twelve of those years were spent in Thompson and Northern Manitoba. Peter was a member of the Fort Garry Pentecostal Assembly and served on the board, as well as an usher and handy man at the church. A great joy for Peter was to plant his vegetable garden and stand back and watch the Lord make it grow, which he enjoyed sharing with his neighbours. He was a member of Pembina Old Timers Recreation Association, where he enjoyed curling and golfing. Peter was presently a member of Evangel Chapel, where he participated in the Seniors Club and enjoyed ushering as well. The family thanks Dr. Crawford and the caring staff of 3 East, Palliative Care at Riverview Health Centre, for the loving and compassionate care given to Peter. Memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, at Evangel Chapel, 1073 St. Marys Road, phone 257-0143. A reception will follow at the church. Interment will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, December 16, at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue. In lieu of flowers a donation in memory of Peter may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, Prostate Cancer Research, ON1160-675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, R3E 0V9. Safe in the Arms of Jesus.
