Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEO JOSEPH CARRIERE It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Leo Joseph Carriere on December 13, 2005 at the Riverview Health Center at the age of 77 years. Left to cherish his memory are: his loving wife of 52 years Simone, his four sons; Leo (Candy), Paul, Raymond (Brenda), Georges (Kimberlee), grandchildren; Danielle, Melissa, Jesse, Alexandra, Kailey, Emily, his brother Gilbert, his sisters; Marie-Aline, Lilliane, Grace. Leo was predeceased by his mother Cordelia, his father Georges, brothers Paul-Emile, Gerald and Denis. Leo was born on October 31, 1928 in St. Boniface. He grew up in the Labroquerie area and started teaching at the age of 17 years and taught for 43 years. He married Simone in 1953 and they raised their four children in Winnipeg. Leo was a loving, generous and beautiful person who always put his family first, and was always there when needed. His door was always open to family, friends and even strangers. He enjoyed music and often played the fiddle at family gatherings. Leo also played and coached baseball and enjoyed playing hockey. Leo was also a craftsman who took great pride in his work on various construction jobs. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Riverview Health Centre Palliative Care ward (3E) for the care and compassion they demonstrated to Dad and the rest of our family during his time there. In keeping with Leo's wishes, cremation has taken place. Leo's family invites you to join them in a celebration of his life on Saturday, December 17, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. in the Holy Family Church, 778 Archibald St. In lieu of flowers donations in Leo's memory may be made to the Riverview Health Centre Foundation #1 Morley Ave., Wpg. I miss you very much pépé your big smile and always dressing in a long shirt. I heard a member we would go to the farm or the Land by Steinbach and I remember we were always clear the trail so we could drive in my favourite was cutting down the trees and yelling timber nice fire and tea.
