Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNEIL DUNCAN MCGREGOR Peacefully, on Wednesday, December 21, 2005 at Seven Oaks Hospital, Dad (Papa) passed away at the age of 71 years. He will be sadly missed by his family. Dad was predeceased by his loving wife Joyce, son Gordon; parents Robert and Ella. He is survived by his three children; Kelly (Dennis) Mazur, Marty (Cathy), Syd (Kathy); grand-children, Amanda, Larissa and Colin and numerous members of the extended family. He was born and raised in Winnipeg. At the age of 20 Dad began working for the City of Winnipeg in the Works and Operations Department. Through the years he rose to the rank of Supervisor and retired in 1988. In the Fall of 1956 he married the love of his life, Joyce Kousof. They raised three children together in West St. Paul. From 1977 to 1983 he was a Municipal Counsellor in the R.M. of West St. Paul. He was an active member of CUPE 500 and was awarded an Honorary Lifetime Membership. He served as a table officer and was also on the bargaining committee. Dad was a strong supporter of the New Democratic Party for many years. From 1987-1988 he was a board member of the Highway Traffic Board for the Province of Manitoba. Dad enjoyed working in his yard and also enjoyed working on an array of carpentry projects. He was considered a jack of all trades and enjoyed the many aspects of building homes. Dad looked forward to his morning coffee get together with Bernie and the Boys at Garden City Shopping Centre Food Court. Before Mom passed away they enjoyed many opportunities to travel to various places. We would also like to extend a special thanks to Dad's close friends Bernie Kuntz and Clive Derham (true friends), who were with him, and all of us through thick and thin. A Memorial Service in Dad's honour will be held at Glen Eden Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 27, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society.
