RENALDO (ROY) DETHOMASIS It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the untimely passing of Renaldo DeThomasis on Thursday, December 22, 2005. Renaldo was born March 27, 1935, in S. Tommaso, Pescara. He left Italy at a young age and moved to England for three years with his family. In 1953, they made their way to Canada, and settled in Winnipeg. He worked for CP for approximately three years, then moved to Beaert Construction doing carpentry work. In 1965, he started working with Trio Drywall and continued in that line of work until 1990, due to health issues. In 1974, while holding down a full-time job, he took great pride in building his family, a home in Bird's Hill, and resided there for the next 24 years. Renaldo is greatly missed and survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Grace; and his three children, Anna (Shawn) Larocque, Mark (Dina) along with their children Dylan and Sophia, who were the apples of Grandpa's eyes, and Eric (Kim). He is also survived by a brother Alberto (Elena) in Italy, brother Ed; sister Lilliana (Angelo) Di Pietrantonio in Toronto and sister Antonietta Bertone; also his father-in-law Giuseppe Passante; brother-in-law Tino (Marlene), Pierina (Manuel) Amorim, Lucy (Luigi) Signorino, Silvana (Dominic) Cantafio; and numerous nieces and nephews in Winnipeg, Toronto and Italy. Renaldo was predeceased by his father Tommaso; mother Eufemia; brother-in-law Carmelo Passante; mother-in-law Santina Passante; and brother-in-law Pierino Bertone. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 28 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. A private interment will take place the following day. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Renaldo's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
