ELLEN (NELLIE) DAVIS (nee TAYLOR) 1906 - 2006 Peacefully on Tuesday, January 3, 2006, Nellie Davis passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 99 years. Nellie was born in Winnipeg, MB, on January 28, 1906, and resided in West Kildonan and Winnipeg all her life. She is survived by her daughter Alice of Selkirk, MB; her stepsons Harold (Lorna) of Longbow Lake, ON and Hugh in England; daughter-in-law Vi of West Vancouver, BC, and sisters Mynne (Joe) Gilmour and Pearl (Jim) Bryden of Victoria, BC. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and special friend Helen Hill. She was predeceased by her husband Harold, her son Gib, her brother Bill and sisters Lil and Alice. She attended local schools and in her earlier years was employed by Public Press. She also was employed for 18 years in both the previous and present locations of Grace General Hospital. Nellie was a longtime member of Arlington Street Gospel Chapel and supported their many missionary endeavours. The family would like to thank the staff of Beacon Hill Lodge, Winnipeg, for their loving care and for their kindness and support through the years. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 7, 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg.
