SANDRA GAIL PETERS Surrounded by her family, Sandra Peters passed on peacefully in her sleep after a brief, courageous battle with cancer at Riverview Health Centre on Friday, January 20, 2006. Sandy will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her mother Lillian Peters; sister Gloria Wolff (Donal); niece Lisa Pittet (Heath, Kaleb and Ella); niece Jolene Van Den Bruel (Kevin, Jordan and Alexa); nephew Bradley Wolff (Trina); and nephews Quinn and Brenn Peters along with a large extended family of relatives and friends. Born and raised in Manitoba, Sandy was passionately proud of all that made Winnipeg unique in its own right. She was especially proud of local sports teams (go Bombers!), Manitoba born celebrities (especially Winnie-the-Pooh), and historic landmarks. An avid reader with an interest in diverse topics and an uncanny ability to retain all of it, including the obscure trivia, she would have been a contestant to be rivalled on Jeopardy (in fact, she played from home daily and knew the question to the majority of the answers)! She cherished memories of places travelled to, and dreamt of the places she yet intended to go. But at the end of the day, it was family that was her greatest source of pride and strength, with tremendous enthusiasm especially for the youngest members. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel of the Glen Eden Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. with interment in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Eden Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sandy's memory to either CancerCare Manitoba Foundation (787-4143 / online @ www.cancercare.mb.ca) or Riverview Health Centre Foundation - Palliative Care (478-6271 / online @ www.rhcf.mb.ca) would be gratefully appreciated. Always Loved Remembered ... You Are Forever in our Hearts Arrangements entrusted to: Glen Eden Funeral Home 4477 Main St. 338-7111

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • I worked with Sandy for many years at Canada Trust's main office in Winnipeg. I knew her to be a pleasant, professional person with a great sense of humour. I always enjoyed our conversations. I was reminiscing about the old days and thought I'd Google to see if I could reconnect with Sandy as I have many others. I was sad to hear of her passing. I know it's been a very long time since then, but I just wanted to reach out and extend my condolences to her family. - Posted by: Lesley Gibson (Canada Trust colleague) on: Mar 06, 2017
