BASIL LAVERNE BOWMAN November 1, 1911 - January 31, 2006 Peacefully, Basil Bowman passed away at the Deer Lodge Centre, at age 94. Basil was predeceased by his wife Rose in 1999, brothers, Dudley, Daniel, Wilmer, Cecil and one sister Pearl. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Gordon (Marilyn), Roy (Alice), Brian, Maureen and good friend Gordon; ten grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, sister Ivy Cockerell and many nieces and nephews. Basil served over seas from September 1939 to September 1945 with the Royal Canadian Engineers. After the war he obtained employment with Winnipeg Transit and was with them for 32 years. Basil was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 3 at 2:00 p.m. at the Glen Eden Funeral Home with reception to follow. The family, wish to thank the staff at T5 Deer Lodge Centre for their excellent service and care and special thanks to his companions Terry and Jessica.
