Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryE. CORINNE (CORY) HALPARIN May 12, 1924 - January 27, 2006 A truly wonderful, warm, gracious, courageous lady shrugged off this mortal coil with her daughter Morna at her side. She is also survived by her companion for over 10 years, her standard poodle Murphy and her younger daughter Cara Hall of Ottawa. Mom touched many lives with her wisdom and zest for life. She loved people and felt blessed to have the opportunity to say goodbye to her friends during the last five weeks she was in Pinawa Hospital. Mom was amazing, always approaching life with a joi de vivre and a positive attitude. As a single parent she maintained our home in Winnipeg, a cottage in Brereton Lake while ensuring her two daughters received University educations. A few years after retiring from Aikins Macauley, where she was a legal secretary, Mom moved out to Lac du Bonnet. She thrived there and was able to indulge her pleasure in gardening and the outdoors. She also met her soul mate Gary White and found real happiness and companionship. Mom always said that if she found a place on the river she would buy it. Mom found her piece of paradise in Silver Falls and was absolutely happy, content and at peace there even after Gary died in a tragic rowing accident on April 30, 2004 after only a couple of years together. It's an honour and privilege to be Cory's daughter and to have cared for her and looked after her until the end. Mom truly saw the best in everyone. She and Murphy made many great and treasured friends in Lac du Bonnet and Silver Falls. As per Mom's wish cremation has taken place and she did not want to have a funeral. She just wanted all of her loved ones to have happy memories of times spent together. RUSSELL'S of Beausejour, Manitoba are in care of arrangements. Call 1-866-424-6271 toll free or 268-2263.
