He fought the battle with cancer with great courage and dignity. Horst will be forever remembered and sadly missed by his dear wife Hedwig of 59 years; daughter Monica Unger (Larry), grandchildren, Melissa (Shaun), Jenna, Jordan, Jaime, great-grandchild Mason; daughter Susan Demchuk (Phill), grandchildren, Michael and Crystal; as well as many relatives and friends. The funeral will be held at McDermot Avenue Baptist Church, 821 McDermot Ave. at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 14 with interment to follow in Brookside Cemetery. Viewing prior to the service. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Palliative Care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meadowood Manor, 575/577 St. Anne's Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2M 5B2.
