CHARLES (CY) COBB Peacefully on Saturday, February 11, 2006, with family at his side, Charles Cy Cobb went to join his beloved Jessie. Dad waged a courageous fight at the Grace Hospital but he had his beloved Jessie to join in heaven. Cy was a lifelong Winnipeg resident having been born in West Kildonan May 28, 1916. He was a hard worker who believed in the rights and liberties of the common man. He lived all his life with his family in St. James. Forever remembered by his sons, Kenneth, David (Theresa); grandchildren, Jason (Alison), Cindy (Steven), Katherine, James, Jessica; and great-grandson Nicholas. He will also be greatly missed by his sister Eva; nieces, Marilyn (Ken), Yvonne (Ron) and their children. Cy was predeceased by his parents, Walter, Eva May, brother John, brother-in-law Eddie and sister-in-law Elsie. Cy worked hard all his life, first with Artic Ice and then for 40 plus years with Crescent Creamery. He served as Union President the last 10 years of his working life. He retired in 1981 and spent the next 24 years with Jessie travelling and enjoying his family. Cy was active in the community affairs as a lifelong member of the NDP. He supported his children and grandchildren in all their endeavours. He shared with them in their successes and their disappointments. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 17 at St. James Anglican Church, Collegiate Street and Portage Avenue at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at St. James Cemetery. A viewing will be held Thursday evening, February 16 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway. In lieu of flowers donations in Cy's memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 9Z9. Thomson Funeral Home 669 Broadway - 783-7211
