Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPHYLLIS ARLEE SMITH (nee Temple) Phyllis's family sadly announces her passing on Thursday, March 2, 2006. She will be lovingly remembered always by her daughters, Arlee (Aaron) Deschene and Louise (Mark) Gibbs and granddaughters, Temple and Maren Gibbs. Phyllis was born on July 28, 1932 on the farm near Waskeda, MB. She attended school in Waskeda and Deloraine and graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics. She worked as a dietician in hospitals in Edmonton and Saskatoon. She met Ernie Smith in Saskatoon and they were married November 8, 1958. They celebrated 44 years of marriage until Ernie's death in 2003. Phyllis was an avid curler for years and achieved two eight-enders in her career. She was president of the North Battleford and Moosomin Music Festivals. Phyllis enjoyed sewing, stitchery and knitting. A Memorial Service will be held at Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK on Tuesday, March 7 at 2:00 p.m. Phyllis is resting next to her beloved husband at St. Anthony's Mausoleum, Regina Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in Phyllis's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 2360 2nd Avenue, Regina, SK S4R 1A6 or the Lung Association of Saskatchewan, 1231 - 8 Street E, Saskatoon, SK S7H 0S5.
