After a lengthy and courageous battle with her illness, Carol peacefully past away on March 10, 2006 at the age of 41. She died surrounded by her loved ones. Her resilience, selflessness and unique sense of humour made an indelible mark in the lives of those she came into contact with during her struggle. Despite her pain, she was able to make other people smile and laugh. Her inner strength and love for life was an inspiration to others. Carol was pre-deceased by her father, Marcial Borja and her sister, Tessie Borja. She is survived by her loving husband, Reynaldo Preza and her young daughter, Racheal Preza. She will be dearly missed and eternally loved by her mother, Aniceta Borja (nee Galang), by her sisters in the Philippines, Violeta Vicencio, her husband, Alberto and their children, Bernadeth, Yeyet, Ivy, Princess and Michael. Normita Del Rosario, her husband, Efren and their children, Marygrace, Emery and Angelo. Liwayway Macute, her husband, Bong and their children, Victor, Peter and Kristine. Cristina Hollinger, her husband, Jeff, their children, James, Matthew, Catherine and Ann of Dover, NH. Cora Dutkowski, her husband Nester, their children Jay, Andrew and Christina of Alberta. Flordeliza Cordoviz, her husband, Rudy Cordoviz, their children Christopher, Cynthia and Cameron: Her brothers, Marc Borja, of Vancouver, and Julius Borja, of Toronto. OUR family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. David Robinson and his medical team; the nurses and caregivers at the Health Sciences Centre for their dedication and genuine care. The deep bond of friendship she developed with them will forever be remembered: The family's friend, Rick Field, of Toronto for his support and strength. Viewing (Lamay) and a prayer service (at 8:00 p.m.) by Father Wenceslao Rebillaco will be offered at the Glen Eden Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 14 from 6:00 p.m. to midnight. Memorial service for family and close friends will be held on Wednesday, March 15 at 10:00 a.m. and Interment to follow shortly.
