ERICA BLANCHE MAYTWAYASHING December 21, 1986 - March 12, 2006 Suddenly on March 12, 2006, at the Riverview Hospital, our beloved daughter, friend, niece, cousin and granddaughter, Erica Blanche Maytwayashing, better known as baby cakes , sadly left us and went to a better place to rejoin her mother Anita. Erica will be sadly missed by her loving Dad, Gordon Choken; grandmother Victoria; friend Ray; auntie Smarty, husband Muss; uncles, Gordon, Elvis (friend Candace) and Challo (wife Melenie); brothers, Jonathan, Elvis, Bobby, Jamal, Devan and Stanley Junior; sisters, Tiffany and Danielle; also her special friend, Mrs. L.; coach Mark Collins; all her friends and the staff at R.B. Russell School. In the short time that we have known her, Erica has become a two time national boxing champion in her lightweight division. Erica was also an excellent role model to everyone in the north-end reserve. She dedicated herself to boxing and represented the Alliance Boxing Club and also her home community of Lake Manitoba First Nation. Erica will be sadly missed and always loved by everyone. We love you Big E . Wake service will be held on Wednesday, March 15 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Salvation Army, 325 Logan Ave., Winnipeg, MB. Wake services will also be held on Thursday, March 16 and Friday, March 17 at 7:00 p.m. each evening at the Mary Maytwayashing residence, Lake Manitoba First Nation. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 18 at 1:00 p.m. at the Dog Creek Chapel with Francis Choken officiating. Interment will follow at the Lake Manitoba Cemetery.
