Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARETE EMMA BOEHM December 31, 1918 - May 23, 2006 Margarete Boehm died peacefully on May 23, 2006 at the Grace Hospital with her family at her side. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Wolfgang (Darlene), Edgar (Linda), Friedhelm (Marie) and Manfred (Patricia); 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one brother and sister, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Emil, her son Bernd and her grandchildren, Cindy, Jonathan, Gavin and Joshua. She was born in Germany, immigrating to Canada in 1951 (first to Inglis, MB and then to Winnipeg), following the end of the Second World War and the partitioning of Germany. While life was hard coming to a new country, Mom and Dad, and four children, with a fifth child born in Canada, made a success out of their lives through perseverance and hard work. Mom was fiercely independent till the last day. Poor health in the last few years of her life prevented her from fully engaging in her passion - her garden and flowers. She continued to reside in the family home until the end. A sincere thank you to her neighbours who were so kind and helpful to Mom. A very special thank you to the wonderful staff in the Intensive Care Unit at the Grace Hospital for your kindness and professional and compassionate care. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 26 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., with interment and reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mom's memory may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1P6 or to a charity of your choice. Family and friends are invited to sign the Book of Condolence at www.chapellawn.mb.ca. CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME AND RECEPTION CENTRE 885-9715
