ROSE IRENE BORYS (nee Lazarenko) It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on June 2, 2006 at River East Personal Care Home at the age of 94 years. Rose was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Michael on April 2, 1978, also son-in-law Bill Partyka in 1984 and daughter Rosaline Partyka in 1994. She is survived and will be sadly missed by daughter Marion (Michael) Washnuk; sons Michael (Gladys), John (Luba), Don (Connie); brother Peter Lazarenko and also special friend Heather Borys. Rose's joy was her family and particularly her grand and great-grandchildren which include two granddaughters, Debbie Zalis, Michelle Schriemer; eight grandsons, Richard Washnuk, Joseph Partyka, Gregory, Paul, David, Stephen, Timothy and Dean Borys; eight great-granddaughters, Kelsey, Taryn, Melissa, Anna Borys Samantha Schriemer, Sophia, Isabella, Maeve Partyka; 15 great-grandsons, Michael, Daniel Washnuk, Ryan, Jordan Zalis, Matthew, C.J., Adam Schreimer, Matthew, Samuel, Jamieson, Jefferson, Benjamin, Karsh, Maxwell, Roman Borys. Rose spent her entire life in the Elmwood area of Winnipeg. As a young newly wed she left her parents home to move with Michael five doors south to reside on the same street. This home was her pride and joy which she maintained with yard and garden as a picture place giving delight to family, friends and all who visited or passed by. This continued for 70 years until ill health made it necessary to move. In recent years it gave Rose much happiness to return to her home as a dinner guest of great-grandson Samuel who with his parents David and Kathy returned the home to the comfort of old. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to the staff at River East Personal Care Home. The gentle and compassionate care given with love was very evident and a comfort to all in the final weeks of Rose's life Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 6 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street with David Jury and Audrey Robbins officiating. Interment to follow in Elmwood Cemetery. As requested by Baba her pallbearers will be her eight grandsons. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Rose's memory to the Ronald MacDonald House. Mom's final written encouragement to her family was to please love and look after each other, and to her grandchildren remember Baba is giving each of you an embrace in thought every day.
