ALBERT (BUTCH) LOUIS JOSEPH BOISVERT November 19, 1942 July 1, 2006 On Saturday, July 1, 2006, Butch, surrounded by his family, died peacefully at the Pine Falls Hospital. Butch was born in Middleton, NS in 1942 and grew up in Pine Falls, MB. It was here that Butch met the love of his life, Cheryl, and married her in 1967 in Souris, MB. Butch studied Fine Arts at the University of Manitoba and returned to Pine Falls to be employed at the Abitibi Price Paper Mill. Starting in the lab, Butch completed his pipe fitter trade apprenticeship, and worked with many friends for 38 years until his retirement. Butch was also a proud serving member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 64. After retiring from the mill, Butch continued his high level of community involvement through various volunteer efforts: sign making, float design and building, and many other community beautification projects. Some of his loves besides family included: guitar playing, woodworking, and cooking. After many rumpus room rehearsals, The Kidney Stones , and Peter, Paul and Leonard enjoyed several sold out shows. Butch spent several tireless hours refining and designing whirligigs and signs displayed around town. This host with the most had the ability to make everyone feel special and welcome. He was able to see something special and good in everyone he met. He would lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Butch was predeceased by his parents Louis and Annette Boisvert, and brother Gordon Nibs Smith. He is survived by his wife Cheryl; son Richard and daughter-in-law Jodi; son Louis; and daughter Colette; grandchildren Madison and Nicholas; aunt Lucy; stepsister June and family; sisters-in-law Carol and family, Lola, and Marny; special nephews David, Cameron and Keith and family; and a host of extended family and friends. Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • Butch was a very special human being. He made me feel like I mattered, something my own father couldn’t manage. The times I spent babysitting Richard were some of my happiest. Butch really had a gift, many of them as a matter of fact. I still miss him, 12 years on now. Hope you are singing, playing guitar and enjoying all the Canadien’s games in Heaven. - Posted by: Lynda Miller (Friend) on: Jan 24, 2019
